Confidence on land, too — martial arts & self-defense
The same teaching, out of the water. Orit has taught martial arts since 2014 — Karate, Krav Maga, and Jiu Jitsu — to students from 18 months to 70 years old. Her own classes are not held in a dojo: she teaches at private homes and in small group classes across Miami-Dade and Broward, where her students actually live.
The approach is the one her swim families know: an individual plan, patience with fear, and confidence built one step at a time — practical skills for real situations, taught at a pace a nervous student can actually absorb.
Who these classes are built for
- Women — women-only classes, in your home or with your own group of friends, neighbors, or coworkers. No mixed classes, no audience, no pressure — just skills: awareness, boundaries, escapes, and striking back effectively if it ever comes to that.
- Girls going away to college — before your daughter leaves for campus, give her the course every parent wishes they’d arranged: dorm and party safety, awareness, verbal boundaries, and physical self-defense that works against a larger attacker. One-on-one or with her friends, at your home, before she goes.
- Jewish women and the Jewish community — antisemitism is not abstract anymore, and neither is the fear that comes with it — walking to shul, wearing a Star of David, sending kids to school. These classes are taught by a Jewish instructor who understands exactly what that fear feels like, for women’s groups, synagogue and community groups, and families who want to feel ready instead of afraid.
How classes work
- Private lessons at your home — one student, her own plan
- Gender-specific group classes — women-only and girls-only groups, organized by you or hosted by a synagogue, school, or community group; men’s and mixed groups by arrangement
- Karate, Krav Maga, and Jiu Jitsu, adapted to the students in front of her — age, size, and experience all accounted for
